Sitting on my own bed - bought new, by me, for me -

finishing up stuffed olives, houmous and pitta for lunch

in an Army barracks

in Central London

with no duties for a while

but perhaps to choose gifts for old friends

this is not what I would have imagined for my future

but damn if I'm not happy it's my present

I could have wound up anywhere.
