well today started with me going to bed around four, having tried (and failed) to finish formative analysis work, and summative counterpoint stuff, before having a discussion with bf re: not cheating, then fixing up a poster and presentation for musicology.
i got up about quarter past eight. it was lucky, really, that lizzie texted me to say she wasn't coming, because my alarm clock and radio did not wake me up. the text message did. i've clearly got my priorities straight here... anyway, went in to colour in and print a bit of script, and chat to adam about what we were going to say and such. very exciting it was. 915 rolls around and we give this presentation to about half a class, the rest of whom have ALL researched the same person... so the group discussion was fun. we were all nearly asleep anyway.
we left half an hour early and i sat in the common room going uhhhhhh.... then counterpoint, which technically i didn't have to go to since it wasn't my group... but again, summative assessment in today... it was two exercises; if you only did the first one you could get 60% maximum, if you did the second it was 80%, and both at once could get you up to 100%... the second one was writing a madrigal. from scratch... so i ended up not doing that, but nick checked through my first part and was happy with it. go me. he also explained some of the analysis to me (he's my tutor for both, as well as composition) but i ended up not handing it in. he knows, he doesn't mind, it's all okay...
so gavin evie phil and me went christmas shopping, as you do, and i completely failed to find nice shiny baubles, but did buy some fake roses and crystallised mango, which is nice. when phil went to his cornet lesson and gavin and evie wandered off, i spent an hour or so online and then went back to bed. this was about half four - i woke up at half eight.
so, so far i've not eaten anything more than a cereal bar and had a chocolate milkshake, and i've not done any practise. i almost-rushed to the music block to see if i could at least grab my euph and bring it home, if nothing else to make coming home tomorrow easier, but that was closed already... bugger... came back, chatted with lou, cleared out a cupboard and washed the cutlery drawer thing that everyone has but no-one seems to have a name for... decided to nip to sainsburys to see if they still had hot chicken for sale...
lost my keys somewhere.
this is after i've left the flat, of course. thank god i left my room unlocked or i'd be completely stuck... and thank god lou was there to let me back into the flat! i can't believe this happened on my last night here... i've retraced my steps, asked all the staff at sainsburys, i've rechecked my memory and i cannot for the life of me think what's happened to them. i've not been nudged in the shop, i very much doubt i've put them down somewhere in the shop because by that point why would i be carrying them?... they must've just dropped somewhere... it's so frustrating, i feel like a bloody idiot...
going to get some more sleep and try to sort it out tomorrow. if i can get up early and sort everything, then even if i don't have my keys i can leave before/at the same time as lou and leave her to lock up.
aargh.
