This is for Duppi primarily - a reaction to this, where Polly Toynbee says a lot of silly things. One of the interesting ones is this: "This is a middle-class obsession by those who are least likely to be surveyed." Apart from the fact that this is not a middle-class obsession, she's got a point. The middle class really are the least likely to be surveyed. The poorer people are, the less trustworthy they are seen as and the more they are watched. Should we not worry about that?
I have nothing to hide
You know this Universal Child Database... when do they plan on deleting that information?
I'm starting to think maybe I don't want kids after all.
Or you could just get them to sign a bit of paper, like we do. Seriously, what was wrong with the old system? Were your teachers too deaf or blind to make sure they'd ticked the right names for the right kids?
This man seems interesting too.
And FUCKING HELL. If our Medical Centre or our doctor does this, I am never going back. And no, I don't have anything to hide, unless you count the embarrassing warts that took years to get rid of.
If you're interested in the tech side (and I know I am, though I forget easily), here are a few notes...
