We've been discussing it on a mailing list I'm on... basically the only option is to leave the country - unless you trust a new government to actually reverse the situation, which I certainly don't.
The short-list (for those of us who don't have much faith in our language skills) is Canada or New Zealand. I'd opt for Canada as NZ is too rural for me - although if you like that kind of thing, it's apparently beautiful, and also if I recall correctly it's supposed to be the most likely place to at least partially survive a nuclear war these days. Which is starting to look relevant again.
Truth of the matter is, we'll probably all just stay here and muddle along as best we can, pretending it's not all that bad, unless/until something really crappy happens to ourselves or one of our close friends.
