arms trade
some of this is silly. do you really want prisoners to be able to shake hands with guards? it really brings up the question of what the prisons are for; if it's just getting them out of society's way, fair enough, job done. if you want them to be able to come back into society and not fuck themselves up again, better not to let them sleep with roaches.
also, aren't you glad you live near there?
this sounds interesting but isn't explained well.
did you see that jack straw has problems talking to women in veils? it's interesting, he was careful to state it in an inoffensive manner but he's still being accused of whatstheword prejudice. personally i'm a bit muddled about this myself; on the one hand i think every woman has the right to wear the veil, on the other jand, i really don't see why anyone would want to. fair enough, the impersonality could be a blessing at times - but you're basically honouring a tradition of repressing women.
feel free to argue.
i was looking in the art library today and i quite like georgia o'keefe's stump on red hills (or something like that)
apparently bandits in pubs can cost more nowadays. woo.
i can only see the first two paragraphs of this but muslim art sounds interesting.
how did i end up here? still, fun.
this is not good.
i need to go do some more practise, then write down some stuff about morton feldman.
see y'all
