sevenhelz at 12:31am on 16/02/2006i got a rose on valentine's day.
it's not as romantic as it sounds, the restaurant we ate at was giving out one for every two people that ate there, or something. also, it was white, which represents innocence? sweet.
:) me and steve had agreed not to get each other anything, but as we ended up in music zone at one point, we bought each other films. well, actually, i bought him the entire first series of queer as folk, and he bought me films. i can't remember what, they're living at his house so that we actually watch them.
then we went to see The Vagina Monologues at the citadel. it was pretty good actually. everyone seemed to enjoy, though it was hard for me not to pre-empt everything being said - i still know most of the words...
well it was a nice day anyway. after going to the theatre and then having a drink at the raven (just j2o for me) i went back to steve's and we talked and watched queer as folk for a bit. i gave him something, some stuff i'd written; i don't exactly keep a diary any more, and i'm hardly a regular updater on here, but when there's just too many thoughts in my head it helps to write it all down and kind of work through it. the other night when i couldn't sleep i started writing about us, and i realised partway through that i had to show it him. i once saw him flick through an old diary of his ex girlfriend's - she'd written about how miserable she was, but she hadn't actually told him about it, or why. and i thought it was easier for me to show him how i'd felt at the moment i'd been writing, than to try and explain, and find the words again. so. we had a nice night, talking and cuddling.
i need to find my diary. these next few weeks are going to be busy anyway, and i'd like to fit some more theatre visits in - there's some exciting stuff going on in liverpool and at the lowry. actually in the next couple of months there will be quite a lot of opera on in manchester too, i think the welsh national opera are touring there, and opera north are putting some stuff on too. i'd like to get to as much of that as i can. i've got a possible audition soon, at huddersfield, and i've got to visit bangor on the first of next month. i'd feel much more confident arranging things with my plannery thing at hand, rather than a calendar.
other than being a bit ill, i've been good lately.
