Second deal-breaker: If a guy likes porn, but doesn't like lesbian porn.

I mean, it's just women enjoying themselves. Who doesn't like that?

Interesting... I've heard several women say the opposite; lesbian sex isn't for/about men, and the male obsession with watching it is inappropriate/annoying.

Personally I find f/f porn less interesting than m/f or m/m porn because I can't easily imagine myself in the place of any of the participants.

Yes, this is directly down to my own experiences, and I've heard/read women say the same. Thing is, even if you find it more difficult to relate to or for whatever reason it isn't interesting to you, would it hurt to watch it once in a while with your partner?

...not meaning to imply that you personally don't do stuff for your partner. Every situation has to be judged on an individual basis (I've never spent a significant amount of time with any guys obsessed with lesbian porn, though I can see that some of it is made with that perspective in mind, so meh), but I'm coming from a relationship where scorn was poured upon lesbian porn because "it's not real sex", and yet he would often watch porn that made me cringe because the women being slammed into were obviously (to me) in pain... oww... and I'm now with a guy who enjoys lesbian porn as much as any, and *likes that I like it* more than anything. Someone who actually tries to make me happy, in bed and out, who would've thought it? To me the lesbian porn is part of that. Won't necessarily always be.

I realised yesterday I'm quite messed up. Hope you're well.

Oh no, I'd be well up for watching it with someone who was getting a kick out of it, of course. I just wouldn't buy/download it for myself.

This is interesting and quite cool, but, I'm not sure how common it is to think like this - current boy claims that many women love the m/m, for instance.

I personally don't enjoy a lot of m/f, maybe because while I *could* envision myself in f's place, I wouldn't particularly want to... and when downloading at least, it seems difficult to avoid the kind of porn I wouldn't want to watch, and thus easier to just avoid it and go f/f :) current boy is not into m/m so we also avoid that, seems simple enough to keep both of our tastes catered to. x

While I prefer M/F porn (and the group variants F/M/F, M/F/M, etc) precisely for the reason that you stated - being able to imagine yourself in the man's place (or an "I'm next" scenario) - I also like F/F porn, although I'm less often in the mood for that. Probably that's in part because the disappointment of some of the supposedly lesbian porn which turns out to be just a teaser to encourage you to subscribe to the company's content, rather than two women actually having sex.

I can understand why some women, particularly lesbians, can get annoyed at a guy being interested in lesbian porn, as some guys seem to (subconsciously or otherwise) have the idea that a lesbian is really a bi woman who hasn't met the right bloke, or hates men. I know that, while sexuality is a complex thing, there are some women who really won't be interested in men...

To me, I find seeing two women pleasing each other hot, as usually they are comfortable in their body and know what they like, and so have a good idea what the other woman would enjoy (although obviously everyone is different), particularly beyond the breast/vagina/clit zone that some men concentrate on. I, in part believe that having seen this sort of porn before I had my first relationship made me better in bed for pleasing a woman. Also, whatever I am doing, I get at least some of my pleasure from something by seeing whomever I am with enjoying themselves too (i.e. the non-mystical definition of an empath) - for instance I can't enjoy a film as much as I would, if I am aware that someone I've come with isn't enjoying it.
