I don't presume to have an opinion on everything. If you try to push me into a conversation or debate about something on which I feel I don't have enough knowledge to merit an opinion, I will get testy. I will be annoyed with you both for pushing me and, more often than not, because you are also making assumptions about a topic which you have not personally experienced and have no data to back up your view with. Good ways to avoid a massive row are to notice when I am shy about expressing an opinion. It's rare enough that I think it's noticeable.
