So every time I post a recital on facebook I realise I could really do with one or two good photos of me with the euph, especially the new two-tone one (it has gold plated bits, and only three makes of euphonium are two-tone, all top of the range). I haven't been bothering on account of a) I don't want plastering with makeup, b) I don't trust photoshoot companies (because I just don't know enough about them to know how I'll be treated etc), c) I don't need a lot of pictures of me holding random spheres or peering round walls, and anyway I just don't like having my picture taked; and d) I assume it costs that paper stuff I don't have. So. I have very conflicting thoughts on photos. That is all, really.

Bribe a photographer friend to spend a couple of hours with you and the euph? Unless you're able to bring it to London, it would probably have to be a photographer friend oop north, which means I can't suggest anyone, but might be worth asking around? I know so many amateur togs - not even through modelling, mostly geeks with cameras - I assume there's a few of them splashing around :)

I have been vaguely thinking about this, and what reminded me was noticing a mate has set up a photography "business". I don't want to be overly critical, but the pictures they're sampling didn't look... well, they were clear, but some weren't quite the right colours (something to do with exposure or lighting?) and some weren't particularly well framed... so yeah. I just need to do a bit more looking around.

If I get down to London again in the near future there's nothing to stop me bringing the euph, especially if I'm driving; it just seems a bit of a risk/hassle for a few days when I probably won't be practising anyway. This is one of the reasons London is a mildly surreal place to me (euphonium being fairly central to my sense of self, though less now than it has been).

I guess I just haven't got round to it so far :) Thanks for the advice hon.
