It's his first novel. I wanted the main character to end up bitter. But maybe I'll feel differently next I have a chance to re-read. Alternatively, would you like a book?

Ha. I know, I make it sound appealing. It's very good otherwise though; perhaps a parcel of book? Depending on postage costs most likely :)

Ah, now that I believe I have. I wanted to write you a letter, but never got round to it. I shall attempt to rectify this :)

Would you be amused if I sent you a book from one of the piles we were sorting to send to Tanzania yesterday? Lest you think me morally reprehensible, it has "sex" written over the text a couple of times and so is inappropriate for Tanzanian children.
