So, judging by the reaction of this man, it is now apparently rude for a student to go to their tutor's office, knock and, when requested, enter, apologise for interrupting and begin to ask a question.
He didn't like what I was asking. That doesn't make my actions rude. His reaction was hella ruder than mine.

Graham Cummings. I was asking for an extension on a piece due today - he said I was unlikely to get it and I forget exactly what he said then, but started going on about how I'd come in and interrupted his conversation (with Philippa) and was it urgent?
I just apologised again and said I'd leave them to it, to which he replied he should think so too.

He really is an arse. He's been bullying a friend of mine, giving her shitty marks because he doesn't like her for some unknown reason, saying her information is plain wrong when she fact-checked with Lisa Colton - the medievalist (as you know) - on medieval music! Thing is, I don't think my friend has appealed about the marks. She's a bit timid. It was on a seminar paper too, which could make it difficult to re-assess... but even so.

That doesn't surprise me. I was always a bit scared of him, but he was ok when I went to get my extension from him (but then I had already spoken to JB before and knew I had his backing if Graham decided to play hard ball). Thankfully, when I went to see him he was free then, but I'd previously tried asking him to photocopy my seminar handout and while he spouted off stuff about how he'd been away all weekend to start with (which as you know, when he's angry is not nice), then relented and said he would copy it, but didn't turn up when he'd said he would, then glared at me when I was a bit late in (as in going in at 13mins past) after getting Lisa to copy it for me. I think he forgot, even though I'd seen him mere hours before!

I can't believe he did that though... undermining someone like that. Research is about researching things, so you can't just go and say it's wrong unless you've read EVERY book etc there ever is! Has your friend spoken to anyone, other than you, about this?

JB knows and obviously Lisa. I really don't know if anything is being done about it. My friend got a 50 on that paper. I'm sure she can do better.

(there again, proof that I may overestimate her intelligence/organisation lies in the amount of money she owes to banks)
