Weekly update:
Practice time around the two hour mark, with some time spent with other players discussing band pieces and awkward intervals.

Topics discussed in lesson:
Scales are fine. DT is working on them with everyone although the first-years have a technical test in December where ours is after Christmas. It's good to feel prepared however.

Study 13 from the Arban. We talked about freeness and clarity, the latter not being so important in the very fast valve work.

Sightreading - we played several duets through in various keys, which was interesting. Whilst not as fast as DT, I managed to keep going on most of them without too many wrong notes.

Other issues:
Band is worrying me as we keep working on pieces that I consider quite easy. We have Vienna Nights out which is definitely going to be difficult, but I would like to have run it through with the band before doing serious work on it with DT. Thankfully we have already played through Dances and Arias and done some work on Circius, both of which have lovely euphonium solos in. Must make sure to practice pieces we haven't played also, so as to be well-informed at least.
